Five toys I’d like to call my own

“Honey, we pretty much have everything now …”
I just have to share my thoughts on things I’d like to have yet cannot purchase for reasons such as money, time, sanity and the like.
a 21:9 TV
Oh how I want to spend serious money on the biggest telly Philips has on sale (the price is insane!!). I watch a lot of films, and on my 47″ 16:9 screen cinema aspect films bear ugly black borders. Every time I think about it I can literally see the 47″ 16:9 screen transforming to a boasting 58″ 21:9 one. Only problem: there are also quite a few 16:9 films and what about my precious PS3? Well, I hope the PS4 will natively support 21:9 resolutions … (yeah, right, keep on dreaming!)
a motorbike
It’s been a decade since I owned a bike. Drove it for 6 weeks and had a pretty terrible accident. I was lucky, my bike wasn’t. Ever since I wanted to have another bike (had a short fling with a Schwalbe, hrhrhr, that was phunny indeed) – the reason I don’t own a bike is pretty simple: I don’t have a garage to put it into. I don’t understand fellow citizens who have their bike outside even off-season. There are reasons like “danger” and “pricey” as well – maybe even “don’t need it, have a car”, yet I keep telling myself it’s the garage. So as soon as I get a garage there won’t be much keeping me from getting a bike. Or thinking it over again and finding another reason not to get one. Bummer …
stereo speakers
I am quite happy with my Teufel surround system, but listening to music I always think that it might be better to have a decent stereo system as well. I don’t listen to music in my living room much, so this is not a big deal. Still, as a perfectionist and music lover there is no way around decent speakers in the long run.
electric guitar
I have an electric guitar to rock. And a pretty good classical acoustic guitar to play more subtly. And a western guitar to rock non-amplified. And a cheap guitar to take to BBQs. And a plastic guitar that came with Guitar Hero. 1, 2 and 3. And the Logitech one. It all started in the early nineties with the electrical one, a bargain I got from a friend. Spend a whooping 300 Marks for it (that’s something like 150 Euro). It’s basically a piece of crap and I’d really like to have a new one.
an EIZO monitor
Oh my, I’ve been dreaming about one of those for as long as I can remember … I always wanted to have a professional EIZO monitor. I found a decent alternative: the Dell UltraSharp series’ monitors have been sitting on my desks for ages. Best value for money in my experience, so this makes it even more unlikely that I will ever purchase one of those professional EIZO panels.
That’s basically it. At the moment I can’t think of anything that is equally needed and far from being bought any time soon. I wonder if that will ever change …

So what is it *really* that keeps you from dumping the money for that stuff? The guitar, the speakers and the monitor should be easy to get by means of need-related arguments
The bike can certainly wait and the 21:9 screen is senseless as long as its only real plus is that it enables you to tell all people how painful the early adopters punishment fee was…
Please, stop, I almost opened amazon …
Awwww. *pet*
